About

Andi's Artistry

Andi started performing when she was three years old, and has spent her entire life in the theatre. On the stage she is a magnetic actress, singer, and dancer; on the production end, she is is a creative director, writer, teacher, and choreographer. As an eclectic performer Andi enjoys many genres, but she is most passionate about contemporary drama and musical theatre. Feminist material is closest to her heart, and she also has a deep love for experimental theatre. Through her work as an acting teacher, she has discovered the joy of introducing children to the arts, and loves working with kids.

Andi's Training

Andi spent three and a half years at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Atlantic Acting School and became specialized in the Practical Aesthetics acting technique. While at Atlantic she trained in the movement techniques of Suzuki and Viewpoints and the vocal techniques of Linklater and Chuck Jones, in addition to studying Chekhov and Shakespeare. She also studied some film acting at Atlantic, and took a film acting class at NYU's Stonestreet Studios.

After her training in New York, Andi returned to her home state of Illinois to obtain a BA in Theatre from Eastern Illinois University. At EIU, she focused on sharpening her skills as a musical theatre actor and as a director. She also added new techniques to her training, including Laban, stage combat, neutral mask work, and animal work.
